I had gotten this pack about a year ago, mainly to replace my (then) current and falling apart backpack; this was my first piece of Eagle gear, and while I had heard good things, I had no clue what to really expect.
The Eagle website advertises this pack for $175, but I did a bit of searching around and ended up finding it for $165 shipped from SKD Tactical.
After about three days of waiting, I came home to a nice brown box sitting on my doorstep. Inside sat Eagle's 3 day MOLLE pack. The color I chose was Coyote Brown.
Further beating an already very dead, old horse, this thing is built like a tank. Sporting tan buckles by Nexus and National Moulding, it really looks great. Also equipped are beefy YKK zippers that don't look the least bit fragile. This being my first Eagle product, I was hooked.
This pack comes with two removable straps - a sternum strap and padded waist belt. The sternum strap is very useful when wearing the pack over any kind of gear, and the belt really takes a considerable amount of weight off of one's shoulders when carrying heavy loads.
The front of the pack has three horizontal rows of PALS webbing - each row has eight columns - on the lower part of the outer most pocket. There are also two columns going all the way down both sides of the pack. This thing has plenty of real estate for whatever your needs might be. Additionally, there is one 2x3 area of velcro loop, and one 1x6 area of velcro loop for flags and name tapes respectively. On the underside of the pack, there are another three rows of PALS webbing, with six columns each.
After about a year of near-daily EDC (every-day carry) use, plus hiking, camping, and travel, this pack looks almost as good as the day I got it sans a few stains and scrapes. I expect many, many (should I add another many) good years from this pack.
If you've ever considered purchasing something from Eagle's line of gear, take the plunge. It will not disappoint. An added bonus is their lifetime warranty: "If you do not shoot it, cut it, or blow it up, I will repair or replace, at no charge, any Eagle product that ever fails to perform!"
All in all, I'm very impressed, and would definately (and have) chose Eagle's gear again. As far as looks go, Ill let the pictures do all the talking.
